Architecture Studio of the Year
Austin Maynard Architects are the recipients of one of the biggest awards in international architecture. At a big reveal party in London Dezeen, “The World’s most popular and influential architecture, interiors and design magazine” awarded the prestigious ARCHITECTURE STUDIO OF THE YEAR to Austin Maynard Architects. From over 5,000 entries from 90 different countries on six continents, an esteemed jury of 25 highly celebrated creatives, including Neal Shasore, the Chief Executive of the London School of Architecture, humanitarian and philanthropist Yasmeen Lari, the first female architect in Pakistan and Fabio Novembre of Novembre Studio, were tasked with selecting the winners. First compiling a ‘Longlist’ then a ‘Shortlist’ before finally determining a single winner in each category. In architecture there were 11 award winners, located in ten different countries. Austin Maynard Architects are thrilled to receive the highly coveted Architecture Studio of the Year title, and to be representing Australia on such a massive world stage.

Upon receiving the award Austin Maynard Architects founding director Andrew Maynard said “Mark and I have long been dismissive of the myth of an individual genius, or the star architect. Architecture is a team sport, requiring input from a diverse and skilful team. We have put just as much effort into creating the best team as we have in creating outstanding architecture. The ARCHITECTURE STUDIO OF THE YEAR award is recognition of how strong our team is, and illustrates how a studio of only ten people can achieve so much.
